Kindly Review
If you’ve already read the book, it would mean a lot to me if you could leave an honest review. It doesn’t have to be elaborate. Even something as brief as “A great read!” would be fine.
Cat Corner
In other news, meet the newest member of my family, Iggy (formerly Elf)! Here’s actual footage of him being rescued last year. He was found injured and malnourished here in Philly.
The rescue organization, Kolony Katz, named him Elf because he was found two days before Christmas. His left leg was in bad shape due to a bone infection. It took months for him to completely heal.
After a long recovery with a foster family, he was finally ready to be adopted in August.
Real talk: I wasn’t crazy about the name Elf, especially since the name is so similar to our other cat, Eleanor. Looking for possible name replacements, I watched the movie 24 Hour Party People the night we brought him home. As soon as I saw a clip of Iggy Pop onscreen, I knew that the name was a winner.
My cat Iggy also twists and contorts himself when playing, sorta like Iggy Pop. “Iggy” is also just fun to say! Other variations we’ve used with him: Ignatius, Iggward, The Iggman.
He’s two years-old and smart, silly and rambunctious. He loves puzzles, feather wands and laser pointers. When Iggy sleeps, he looks like a mound of fork-twirled squid ink pasta.
He’s becoming close friends with my other cat, Eleanor.
I’m delighted to have Iggy in my little family.
